Bankruptcy is a no brainer if you currently have a lot of unsecured debt because it will help you start fresh, allow you to stay in your home for up to a year longer, it will keep the lender from filing a deficiency against you, and could allow you to short sale your house which will help you avoid the sub-prime category.

I have also come across some who were still dragging things out, and at least one who has gone into a fresh bankruptcy as well; so some still stubbornly hang on and refuse to sell.

When I'm preparing to attend another event at which I may encounter those initial contacts again, I may look up their info and study it a bit so I can say hello to them at the event, hoping to keep them fresh in my mind (and keeping ME fresh in THEIR minds!).
