Can anyone recommend some good articles on how to navigate that process, weed out what to look for and what to stay away from, and how to make bids to the bank?

They must not be reading the news like this article about US homes sales down 8.7%.

Since Ali didn't mention it, she just wrote a great article on the BP blog about different markets to invest in.

So I'm reading a lot of articles about REI in America, and it has taught me a lot.

Lots of great articles, podcasts and old threads on the forums that will give you great information.

Now that I've been starting to read articles and forum threads here, I'm starting to learn more about other options (like TK) and how to analyze other markets, which is great, since we're looking at markets that are much farther away (won't be able to drive there in 5.5 hours like we can with our AZ rentals).

But I don't really know much about real estate so I did what everyone does these days and googled it and to make a long story short I read some articles and they lead me to bigger pockets.
