While I have no experience with this, I would imagine you would have to jump through the hoops that you would have to go get compensated for damages.

I disagree with @Jonathan Greene especially since the vast majority of agents in my experience are part time.

We’ve been lending from our SD 401k plan for years.Do you have any private lending experience?

I am looking into renting to listing on Airbnb and furnish finder for my mid term rental since Honolulu is not really short term rental friendly outside of the tourist areas.Would like to hear others experience doing mid term rentals in Oahu.

In my experience you can borrow about 40% of its value if you want to invest the money elsewhere.
