My thought is this path will generate additional passive income streams that can be a springboard for launching my own business down the road.C) Start my own company now and continue to bight the bullet as Realtor until I get the business (e.g. property management, fix and flip, development) off the ground.My long term goals are to build a rental portfolio that provides $5,000/Month in passive income streams as well as build a sustainable development company focused on urban revitalization.

This is another area of knowledge that adds to what you should know, which is a con, but good knowledge and relationships with those agencies, churches, etc. can easily turn to a plus of an endless renter stream, deposit assistance for your tenants (ie higher deposits for you), rental assistance if someone falls behind on rent, and support for issues tenants may have that otherwise would blow up and lead to a messy eviction.

I do want to retire early enough to enjoy myself more, I have an okay work/life balance now but in say 5 years or so ideally I would like to quit my day job and have a few different sources of semi-passive income streams to enable me to spend more time doing what I like to do most (travel, spend more time with my wife and kids etc.).So in developing a plan, I was thinking today about my current goal of buying several SF and/or MF properties with reasonable CF over then next 5+ years to supplement my "early" retirement.

We are adding about 2000 square feet onto this house we are rehabbing and getting the foundation done has been a big problem...soft soil and a stream that runs right only 6 feet under the house.
