I am a little confused on the city you're in... the cities of Miami and Ft Lauderdale do not border each other... there are several cities between, like Hollywood, Dania Beach, Golden Beach, Aventura, & Hallandale (the counties of Dade and Broward do).

If the area does not support rents in that range it is not a worth while investment as a rental.This is only a rough ball park number.
