Our cabinets, paint colors, stone, tile, appliance packages, etc., are almost always exactly the same because people that buy in the range we sell at like those types of finishes.

For example, I can walk into a house, and know within about 5% what my painter, my electrician, my plumber, my carpenter, my cabinet guy and my flooring guys will charge.

I have a color sample on the wall, cabinet layout from HD stapled to the wall, tile sample, and counter sample.

Basically, you should have a folder in your file cabinet with receipts for each of your accounts.

Let me start out by saying I am not an electrician, and this is just my opinion.A couple weeks back I(and by I, I mean my wife) decided that our circa mid 80's medicine cabinet and vanity light were in need of replacement.

you just have to get dirty, no other way about it. videos and manuals are great, but when you have to level a kitchen cabinet to butt up to the corner cabinet and trace the toe kick to match up, that's just experience (trial and error).i have learned a lot from the HD guys. most of them are not useful, but there are guys that know a lot. tools are great and you need them, but then you have to ask yourself if you want to spend the time to learn and do the work yourself or spend the time to find a good deal.

My mother doesn't live here and doesn't know what's going on at any given time nor does she really care all that much, seeing as I'm in charge, so this tenant insisting that unless my mother contacts her that she will not listen to things like "you need to lock the door" and "You are taking up all of the cabinet space when there are three people living here" is becoming a serious problem because my mother will not do that and doesn't have time or patience to email and call my/her tenants every time there's a small but obnoxious issue at the house.

If they were a good tenant and didn't do any other damage to the place and left it in good shape I wouldn't even bother charging them for it since the cabinet was cheaply made to begin with.If they did a bunch of other damage and left a mess, then I'd definitely tack this onto the bill.

If this is an older building with solid wood cabinets then sanding and re-staining with new hardware works wonders as those cabinets tend to last for decades.What age were the buildings constructed??
