If you can start small with lower risk to gain experience, test a market and a team etc then I think you're right about it being a step in the right direction.

Just remember to approach these people kindly and think of how you can add value to them, otherwise your odds of succeeding with them is slim to none.Just think about how you'd like to be approached by someone if you were in their shoes

Yes, if I leave my BD, the licenses will be inactive and I have 2 years to find another BD before I would have to re-test for all of the licenses.
