She has no options whatsoever and she's still living in the house from the most recent eviction (state agency came in paid the back rent in exchange for withdrawing the eviction case, yay Connecticut) according to her the current landlord is a slumlord and a tyrant.

The state's real estate commission also provides some protection from unwittingly stepping into a relationship with a brokerage: "No agency relationship between a buyer, seller, landlord or tenant and a brokerage shall exist unless the buyer, seller, landlord or tenant and the brokerage agree, in writing, to the agency relationship."

Kyle,Sorry, I don't have a specific referral but wanted to advise a few things you may want to discuss with the agents you talk to:1. are they an independent agent (ie. represent multiple companies)2. do they write both Commercial & Personal coverage 3. what experience do they have with rented dwellings (1-4 family), Apartment buildings (5+ units), Builders Risk (new construction), Renovation Builders Risk (fix & flips), Vacant dwellings, Contractors coverage, and real estate agent/property manager coverage.4. what states are they licensed to write in (in case you invest in properties in other locations).As your business grows and you start investing in other types of properties or projects you want an agent/agency that can meet your needs.
