I wish it wasn't.What's probably going to happen now is that you'll carry around this experience and the grudge it engenders for the rest of your life, and after you buy a house, the next time a politician stands up and starts talking about tenant rights and rent control and rent moratoriums, you'll nod along, and bad things will happen to landlords, and we'll all scream bloody murder here and in other forums on how unfair, unfair, unfair it is that people hate landlords so much.How much we contributed as a group to bringing the public outrage on ourselves through unethical, grasping business practices like this, well, that won't be as enthusiastically discussed.

Agree with others above about NOT confronting the visitor.

It appears to be a diverse economy attracting visitors for several different reasons.

"Partner approval" screams newbie who can't perform. 

Also, we are legally required to store all information pertaining to visitors up to a year, which would also show that place is being booked for more than allowed.

What a strange market that is…. 9 mil visitors with similar attractions but the numbers aren’t even close. 

Some investors just want a property that cash flows and they don't care about the location and others want to invest in a location where they like to visit or eventually would like to retire.

Nevertheless, some of the mountain towns welcome STRs for skiers and other visitors.
