I think it's a matter of having an understanding of what you can do with FB, choosing a strategy, then executing that strategy.For instance, I create an ad offering a lead magnet (something of value someone gets in exchange for an email address), it takes them to a landing page, and then I place them on an automated drip campaign focused on getting them to respond for more information or an in person appointment. 

However if you are looking for a more magnetized resource for passive income, I suggest reading the four hour work week by Tim Ferris!

And I include my "I buy houses" fridge magnet, and have received calls many months after the mailings.
