I'm thinking about selling a townhome....it's in nice shape and in a good area...all things being equal it should sell quickly and at going market price...however, the next door unit is occupied by college students who have a party about once a month and one of them is a music major who plays the drums 3-4 times a week for about an hour at a time, usually in the late afternoon. 

Listen to some music while you're doing it, take a nice lunch break and enjoy the process.

There is a entire development that I'm familar with that is 100% composed of historic structures that were moved to the site and rehabbed into SFHs.

And I agree - that's why many Athletes and Music Stars end up broke. 

The floors in the hallways looked like jail house floors and the paint was horrid green.Some of the tenants ACTED like they NEEDED to be evicted... loud, obnoxious, cursing, music blaring from some of the apartments and so forth.

While others were creating music and writing lyrics, I decided to do extra credit, even though I never needed it.

If we talking non critical data entry or data mining or pesky tasks like that it could work fine.Basically if the kid is sick, or gets hurt, or just has to get to soccer practice your stuff gets back burnered.For example I have been composing this short reply for about 4 hours.
