It will get more complicated if you're borrowing money. 

The way I've seen this work from a cost savings perspective is to hire an overseas bookkeeper to do the busy work, but also have someone higher level available to answer questions and to record the more complicated transactions.

What you are proposing makes perfect sense thus it's too complicated for the government and could interfere with your next rent payment.

It's also quite a bit more complicated than "this qualifies for 5 year and this doesn't qualify" since there isn't really a "list of every possible asset and it's depreciation life" most assets that qualify for 5 year fall under asset class 57.0 assets used in distributive trades and services.

If anything it complicates things and costs you more money.
