Adventure tourism is a tough business.

That’s kind of what we are doing now, we did Air-bnb through the summer with our spare bedroom, and we’ve got a roommate for the winter since the tourism in COS kind of dries up.

Living in the area I invest is rare as it’s all tourism.

We don't want to rely only on tourism for our investements...

I expect my rental portfolio to still be cash flowing wonderfully for me in 10-20 years, because I've bought in markets that have had consistent tourism and a long-term reliance on vacation rentals as part of the local economy, which long predates VRBO and AirBNB.  

i bought a property which was great in many ways and terrible in many other ways.its near the river, near the zoo, four schools, 2 shopping plazas, 20 minutes from the beach, 10 minutes from the train station, 40 minutes from a major university, 5 minutes from a major hospital, 5 minutes from the nearest commercial hub, 40 minutes from another major city and has great tourism industry, commercial hub and everything is a tick EXCEPT the fact that when I purchased the house, it was a sad little brick house in a sad little part of town, with sad qualities and below average appeal.

There is no tourism industry in those 2 towns. 

The increase in year-round tourism is better. 

However, it's my understanding that the tourism numbers were not parallel to the drop in home prices.
