The plaintiff (the lender that started the foreclosure) will have to petition the court for relief, stating prior claim to the money due.Sometimes things are worked in court, like assets will be liquidated to pay off creditors, so the lender will then dismiss the notice of default (Lis Pendens) to clear the title so the house can be sold off.Other times, there are some paperwork issues, so the lender may dismiss the original default notice, end the foreclosure procedures, so they can start all over again.So, it really depends on what's happening with the overall bankruptcy case.
