I'm confused as to why anyone would even touch a tax sale if there is a possibility of lien holder from previous owner putting a lien on property.

Once a tax cert has been issued and is two years old, the holder can file to force a sale.

In the sale, you can either bid on the property or after the sale, you as the lien holder in FL get your 18% interest.  

We do have interest in getting back into the city (food, theater, shopping, etc), so that may be in the cards.So in short, I'd say yes, but I don't know if I want to base the numbers on requiring us to live there to make it work. 

It's all food for thought that you can apply to your life in some format.I read it and personally thought it sucked, but I have a lifetime of building and owning businesses, so I think that was the leading factor as it was to thin for my taste.

But, you can request the servicing notes from the current lender to see what borrower dialog has occurred, and the holder of the note should have a good knowledge of his/her own asset to answer questions. 

No allowance for food..only travel and lodging expenses.

Definitely food for thought.  

More people out of the work force, food stamps, more people renting, etc.
