Not even sure where to start?

Do you know where to start or whom to contact for this type of loan?

If you start with class D the most likely outcome is that you will learn a lot in a short time and then either trade into better neighborhoods or just get out of REI all together.

With that being said, I’d love to have professional input on getting started in the multifamily / apartment real estate world.

I always think that's a great place to start when looking to invest out of state.I also agree with what most said - design, amenities and furnishings will drive revenue.

From being in the industry for a long time I have the contact's and the knowledge to help anyone get from start to finish on their investment here in San Diego.

Many companies will do notes or bonds that are unsecured debt against company as they don’t want to pin it to every asset which is not uncommon - but when they take on additional debt that is secured and/or start to incur massive losses that’s when it gets hairy.

To me, the most important contact is your contractor in the BRRRR process, so I would start by securing a good 1-2 contractors.

Home inspector, property manager (some states require various licensing), admin at a realtor office, contractor / trade apprentice, landscaper, home painter, lender, wholesaler, or co host / arbitrage STRWorking at a Lowe's or Home Depot would be good too.

You could start with  a passive investment to learn while you earn.Apartments and storage facilities are two vastly different niches.
