I definitely recommend a self-hosted blog as part of your website or as the back end of it (wordpress is my choice), but blogging on other platforms like ours at http://www.biggerpockets.com/blog - can serve to be far more powerful in some cases.Building an audience for your own blog can be quite time consuming; blogging on a place like this ensures a built in set of eyeballs.We blog on other platforms ourselves for the same reasons....
