Do a couple weekends driving around. 

I'm now driving through communities on the weekends to better learn the areas and markets.

I have a potential guest that would like to book the weekends next fall for all football home games.

I also need a broker that supports me without all the fluff while acknowledging that with 10 years of banking experience, I have a unique understanding of residential real estate and may not need as much handholding as someone say who is right out of high school or college.What am I looking for: I am trying to add to my portfolio of a couple of rental properties and sell real estate during evenings and weekends (30+ hours/week) in the DMV area.

You can alway find one of these trades to go out and they will charge extra if on nights and weekends but I think overall that would be cheaper than keeping and handy man on retainer.  

I have almost no social life during the week, haha, and then I grind hard on weekends to catch up and push the needle forward. 

Since you will be living there maybe you can buy a house that requires some value-add (like weekend projects etc) but nothing overwhelming. 

If you are working on it during the day and weekends, too bad.
