So if you had a personal residence with $100,000 in equity outside the LLC that would not be something they could come after (although there are still ways to do so, which is known as "piercing the corporate veil", but generally speaking they wouldn't be able to come after you for that asset).Here is a great blog article on the various business entities if you are interested in learning more about asset protection: https://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2009/04/0...
