I actually really liked the woodgrain pattern, but it did not go well with everything else being painted white:As you can see, the door wouldn't shut... so I made a state-of-the-art tool to transfer the frame geometry to the door slab:BEHOLD!!!

He did visit the house but he hasn't been involved with the project since day 1 like the other company has been so I'm the possibility of smaller details being missed is definitely there.I didn't even mention it but I did receive 2 other bids:$355k including roof replacement with lesser materials (original roof is tiled).

Adding GFIs to come up to code does also....Paint, flooring, cabinets, counters, tile, Etc do not need a permit.I know it's tempting to just skip the permit and try and sneak the work, but I would advise against that.
