We are looking at investing as a long term investment for income when we retire.  

Want to be sure we are making the right moves.

Looking back I know we could have made time but it all flew by so quickly so here we are on the verge of losing any profit or value because of our inaction.

.  ;-)My 'problem' is that I now going to cash, but I really don't see ANY commodity that I can 'safely' invest in knowing we are in for a crunch.  

We are due for a slight correction, but those generally quite nuanced and they happen on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis (example: the prices drop 2%-5% for a quarter or two in a specific neighborhood).Q2 set a benchmark. 1/3 of all SFH sales were sold for $2m+, and the median sale price for a SFH was $1.62m, which was a 13% YTY increase.

We are considering renting the whole house to him, his wife and kids while we are away.

After 20 years in both Real Estate Finance and Contracting we are just getting started in Real Estate Investment. 

FYI I just confirmation back from Eliot Bencuya at Streitwise that they do only have 1 property now "and that concentration is a risk, we are currently actively pursuing additional properties and do intend on acquiring, over time, a diversified portfolio of quality office properties". 

We are really excited our 1st investment property, a vacation rental in Ocean City, Maryland, is going so well this year we will have a chunk of change to put into a second investment property this fall/winter!
