That includes getting a free absentee owner list off my MLS (1800 names total that I will mail to over time) and formatting, writing and formatting the yellow letter, printing, writing the return and property addresses on the envelope, stuffing, stamping, and driving to the post office.

While the price of a property usually weeds out many investors in this respect, as Mike pointed out, maybe some of us just don't want confrontations and others are hungry enough and bold enough to take on anyone if there is a dollar to be made honestly.
