I'm a 17yr air force veteran, getting ready for my life beyond the military.

I am currently stationed in Europe serving with the Air Force and I have purchased two properties (duplex and triplex) from 4000+ miles away with never seeing the properties. 

I'm looking into investing in Indy this Spring.

Funniest thing I heard on a podcast lately was how rancho is the bell aire of the inland empire, but it is true.

I had a house built JUST so that I could build a pergola and grow vines on it.I found a great spot on a spring fed lake.. when I saw that crystal clear water..

One unit needed a completely new furnace and A/C system, one needed new central A/C, and 4 needed relatively expensive through-the-wall A/C units (2 more of those, plus one central A/C, will be needed by late spring next year).

That has been our strategy with our owner occupied houses, while we have also added rentals near Air Force bases.

We ended up taking the room down to the studs and joists -- replaced the sub-floor and re-framed in a new back wall, and then re-framed in an area for the tub/shower, and had a plumber come in to re-arrange the plumbing/water-supply  (this was the biggest headache), and the air-ducts.
