There are several industry groups that are trying very hard to have exclusions written to apply to manufactured housing.

By contrast, manufactured housing,  because its is produced in the factory, is under no such constraint.   

Manufacturing is becoming outsourced. 

The life expectancy for cast-iron manufactured in the early 1900's was 60 to 80 years.

For example, had a small-time cheap floor guy lay some LVP for me... genius didn't undercut the door jambs because I didn't specify, and also didn't use the underlayment which was required in the instructions since it's a concrete subfloor.

The underlying technology for our world of IoT devices is quite confusing and rapidly changing and manufacturers are not always transparent about what functionality their products provide, often because you need multiple things to make it all work.

They stop buying inventory to cycle inventory down. manufacturer orders crash.

There are enough manufacturing jobs that will keep people  employed in order to survive, but based on the demographic and being lower income I think prevents folks from actually purchasing their own home.

It did concern me without fastening the siding directly to the studs as often but we have been through four seasons and the siding still looks like the day we installed it per the manufacturer's directions.
