There is a sales tax, but the brunt of paying for the government comes on the shoulders of Texas property owners.If it's your own personal home, you're protected from assessed increases of more than 10%.

Since I am a Canadian I don't believe I could get my contractor's license, and if the deal is right I would be happy to pay a penalty and still flip the property.If anyone has contact info to speak to government branch or name of the branch that looks after this please let me know.
