I had some cash saved for investing in property, and then the perfect home came along.

When they're done with your taxes you should meet with them to go over your return, ask any tax questions, discuss any advice they have based on the return they just prepared and share your plans for the next year so they can give you advice on them from a tax perspective. 

Now I have a few thousand dollars saved up with no debt and access to about 5K in borrowing power.

At this point, the advice I've been given by smarter, more experienced people than me is to hold on and let it appreciate a bit, so that's my plan for now.

I plan to be raising the rents on them because they are currently paying about 40% under fair market rent.

Get rid of debt, build a budget, and save.

If you aren't planning to try to resell, you won't risk having to take a capital loss.
