That does look like it could be the sheet of underlayment that is high and the door has scraped away at it - check the bottom of the door - it will have matching wear marks.If that's not it, then perhaps it was a chemical conflict... certain vinyl and rubber can often be incompatible when moisture is introduced.

Hi Ryan -I am in Orlando, and the vacation rental market here is year-round because of Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, over 100 golf courses and our other entertainment venues.I would suggest that you research this area.

,My mother grew up sharing the bottom of a bunkbed (yes 4 kids in one bunkbed - 2 shared by girls on bottom - 2 shared by boys on top).

It was solid and everyone who walked on it commented on how sturdy the floor felt.Another option would have been to also deck the bottom (underside) of the floor joists.
