My goal is to make my first investment, ideally in a 3/4-plex in the Hudson County area, although I am also open to a Duplex as well if the deal is right, and I'm looking to be able to connect with like minded individuals in the following areas:- Agent - someone who wouldn't mind working with a new investor, and has experience/knowledge working in the Hudson County area (which is where I currently reside - I'm in West New York to be specific)- Bank - I would love to be able to work with a community bank/credit union, as I prefer to be able to give back to the small businesses within the community rather than fill the pockets of the big banks.

So, it may seem like there would be conflicts, but in reality, because Buyers have their own individual needs that convey into any offer, it really doesn't present an issue with the same Realtor presenting their offers on the same property.Speaking briefly to your comment about a listing agent who would "cause a bidding war" between Buyers, this CAN be somewhat true.

By owning it as an individual, you are opening up your personal assets to liability if something would happen at the property and you were sued for negligence.

And if your SO cares about you and your future together (again assuming SO is significant other) then he/she should understand your desire to make your career a bigger priority and seeing you less in the meantime.I vote stay put at PM company because in the long run, where you are now is the better play.
