Just read another article about some heart Docs in India attempting the same thing. 

@Eric James, I wonder that as well, but I missed an opportunity last August to pick up a house that I know was worth about $125K when all that was owed was $19K (I watched the online auction with a heavy heart--it sold for $100K, and I didn't have that kind of money, though I did have the $19K, just not the fearlessness or the knowledge to get the deal before the auction!).  

Photography was $150 and done by a professional photographer, I definitely got a sweet-heart deal on that.

@James Free - funny you should say so, because I definitely left my heart in Fort Collins and am hoping my RE journey will take me back up to that area!

So far this week, I have looked at an off market flip that on the surface has the potential to net $50,000-$60,000 in 3-4 months, a 96 unit complex that could easily produce $500,000-$750,000 after capital improvements and stabilization over a 8-9 month timeline and worked on structuring a one acre parking-lot acquisition in the heart of Downtown Tucson that has major development potential.

If I were in your shoes I would reiterate that with the GC, and if he pushes back you can have a heart to heart with him and his electrician.

BUT, its like anything in life...if you go at it whole-heartedly I believe you will be able to make enough to support yourself and then some. 

Finding ways to buy them out... or....If property maintenance is "on your heart" for you community launch a property management company.
