I would avoid withdrawing from your 401k if at all possible due to the tax implications.

Take it slow and work with integrity.

Maybe I am slow to the game, but anyone can generate a fake pay stub to show their earnings.

Personal experience of rehabbing a home in a historical society, it is a pain and slows things down significantly.

That saves them a ton of money retirement withdraws.  

Appreciation has slowed here (latest report for last month puts it 1% over the last year-but that's an average) while inventory isn't increasing (still at 2.3 months which is where it's been hovering for the whole year) either.

I can see how the disruption of a process could actually slow it down.
