, I am looking to set up a small group meeting in the Palm Harbor FL, area to help Renters, First Time Homebuyers, and transferring military members and veterans find homes.

That requires a Board of Zoning meeting and approval.

I attended my first BiggerPockets event yesterday in Charlotte, North Carolina and it was awesome to meet so many people with similar interests and aspirations. 

I have taken off work or made other changes in plans several times to meet a repair contractor for whatever was broken at the time and they either show up 2-4 hours late or not at all.

One thing I will add is that the “substantial improvement” part of the law - aimed at development / redevelopment - is especially interesting because you can do a cost segregation study / bonus depreciate parts of your property in connection with meeting the substantial improvement stipulation.

Do you know of any reia meetings in the area?

I feel I have a strong grasp of how to fund deals, now I need to find them. before I go gungho in my search for great deals I feel the need to meet with a local lawyer.

My business partner lives in Tampa and has the ability to put eyes on potential properties, shake hands with potential partners, and meet face-to-face with potential investors.

If you're just starting out, I would encourage you to find some local real estate investor groups that meet each month or so.
