Without knowing your job situation, retirement planning, etc. there are a lot of different variables at play here. 1) Renting the property would theoretically generate cash flow that would supplement your monthly retirement income.

Yes because most insurance polices have a vacancy clause that suspends coverage when property is vacant for 60 days.

AND, with the Roofing sales people (we have no salesmen), the independent adjusters, the fraud of the whole system, and the frequency of the "valid" storms that do warrant ins replacements ... yes, our areas have increased Costs and pricing.FYI, I actually got our business GL policy provider (ins co) out of Cali (they are licensed in 3 states) to cover my personal house ins, with more coverage, for 1/2 the price that Geico was raising it to!

Teresa, if your LLC provides services outside of your insured rentals, than you should get coverage for your LLC for the service you are providing.
