Putting Property into an LLC

Ryan Gardner
Posted

I'm just starting out and wondering if I can put the property I'm interested in buying into an LLC. Its a multifamily apartment with 3 doors, and I would have to take out a mortgage after putting down 20%. The reason I want to put it into an LLC, are for the legal protections it provides. I also am only renting right now and me and my family will work together across states to take care of this property. The family does have a trust that we were eventually thinking of putting this real estate into.

Does this make sense?

I want to get pre approved this afternoon, with a good lender in the area .any recommendations?

I am starting out too, I did close on my first property in January but did not initially put it into an LLC. After refurbishing, I created an LLC, opened a business bank acct, acquired all of the permits needed to rent in my community transferred my property into my LLC's name and finally rented. From what I am learning there are a lot of ways you can do it.

Congratulations and good luck!
