It really is a great deal , and an amazing home, but I don't know what to do or if HUD will grant an extension long enough to try to resolve this. 

But most problems can be resolved with a phone call or letter.

After trying to resolve it with the bank, the police, lawyers, and the FBI, my uncle is still on the hook for $10,000 and will have to eat it to keep his own record clean.

I had to transfer the money from my bank account to Google Wallet before being able to use it again (I also pay some people with GW).After several phone calls to customer service I was informed that this was a dispute and just like a CC dispute they credit the funds back to the payee until it's resolved...fair enough.  

I hope tomorrow I can get this resolved and push forward.

This could happen when the Sheriff shows up and he will in fact turn around and go away until resolved.
