If you cut it down to bar height or a giant opening, it will connect the spaces, but reduce costs. 

Smaller foot print, less weather issues, appeals to all skill levels, less time commitment and party/bar amenities. 

We have plans to open up the closed off/ boxed up rooms with a pass through bar in between the kitchen and dining room to create openness and to make it brighter in the whole area since we currently have a dark, outdated, galley kitchen with a single window and terrible lighting.

In a hot area of Seminole Heights walking distance to bars/restaurants/parks.
