I'd like to hear from others about their experiences investing internationally. 

I hear people say blah blah blah...get most of your check electronically deposited, blah blah blah you dont have to worry about it...I'd rather just have good tenants that pay ALL the rent on their own.

Fifteen years later I still have no degree but have held several positions with a technology company and currently work as an account manager for a international fortune 100 company.

Thanks to my job, I have a network of American and international persons who are coming to town for work and are looking for accommodation.

I'm attempting to change my mindset and would love to take action in the form of helping out any real estate investors in the Austin area in the form of an intern/assistant, in order to learn and absorb experience. 

It's hard to ignore the internal desire to jump on these lucrative opportunities, even when they don't particularly fit my mold or investment strategy.

I don't want to get into discrimination etc etc but for a single occupant no children in a one bedroom vs a single dad with two kids in a three bedroom the life expenses are no where near the same so how do people adjust internally for that?

I’m buying it for 70k and the banks internal appraisal was 98k.
