Pay close attention to items that will make your project difficult, waterways, water courses, ditches, canals etc these are either easy obstacles or deal killers.4.

How old and in what condition are the big-ticket features (roof, windows, doors, flooring, furnace, water heater, etc.)? 

It needed a TON of work when I bought it and the basement had mold and water in it.

As a consequence, competition for affordable homes under 350k is fierce, much different to the market over 700k which is still only "warm".

The house has serous basement level water damage which is the major part of the rehab and the master bedroom was framed but not finished.
