He has been working for an Investor for a couple of years now and is going to teach me how he does his SOW and estimating the cost to renovate a property.I was hoping someone could give me some ideas on what to pay attention to or what type of questions to ask him during my visit.I purchased @J Scott book on Estimating Rehab Costs, which I will be taking with me and ask him questions that I had from the book, but I would appreciate input on what other things I should ask to get the most out of my time learning from him.Thank You

I *thought* I was going to start in Lawrenceville, but I'm not sure the value is still there, given the price inflation and the fact that the better parts of the area seem to be fairly well tapped-out and already renovated

I think the take away from this thread is that some people obviously do not like Turnkey, but it is a necessary service for several investors who have no desire to buy, renovate, find tenants, manage, etc.

We bought our first 100+ year old house as newlyweds (read: naive children) in 1998 and have lived in and renovated several since, selling for a decent profit each time and learning how to do things like remove milk paint, do plumbing and wiring, and jack up a porch to replace failing beams.
