Its not unheard of for an agent to request the buyer cover the difference between the commission stated in the MLS and what they want to get paid, however in my opinion, only agents or teams who really provide a high level of service deserve to charge extra to a buyer.  

Wholesaling extras is certainly an option, another is adding to your team so you can handle more.

. :-)  You also may want to consider joining a company that has a real estate team structure. 

When you are investing at a distance, you must have a team in place in that market that you can trust.

I have been networking and feel that I have a pretty strong team as far as contractors, real estate agents, property managers, etc.  

I have been educating myself "obsessively", I have attended REI meetings in my area, I have  business cards of the real players in my area, I have a team that includes a Real Estate Agent, a manager, and an IT person. 

Some Team Leaders offer training, others don't.
