I would think a warm, welcoming environment with a welcome basket is more than enough to send the message to your guests that you care. 

She was honest and told me she may look to buy a brand new house in the future...... if the market stays warm, I don't think she will be leaving anytime soonGreat credit, income, stable job....everything else was fine.

If I go into the other rooms it feels a little warm but it is bearable for a short time.

I actually lived in Lincoln Park for 10 months and think if Chicago was in a warm climate, it would be the best city in the country.  

As far as the furnaces go, I’ve nursed old furnaces along for many years beyond their normal lifespan and there won’t be any catastrophic damage if one goes (since you have four in the building the unit with the failed furnace will stay warm enough thet it won’t be an emergency, probably no issue with pipes freezing or it being uninhabitable, and seeing as you’re in San Fran it probably doesn’t get that cold anyway).

I know that visitors here want to take advantage of the warm weather during the winter, and love to send pics of themselves in t-shirts or shorts to gloat to friends back home.
