Something I forgot to mention before:  I have seen toilet and sink connectors, and washing machine hoses, that have a valve in one end that are supposed to shut off the flow if the attached device starts using "too much" water. 

If you default on the credit cards the worst thing that can happen is they will get a judgement against you and likely attach it to your house that will be due on sale.

If you're just trying to find some good cash flow and aren't particularly attached to where it is, just hearing where other folks are buying might solve the whole thing for you.
