Just because you work for a non-profit for half of what you'd make in the private sector does not mean all non-profits and all employees od non-profits do.I worked for a not-for-profit for two years making as much as I did in the private sector and many who worked for me made more than they would have in the private sector.Those that understand how not-for-profits work realize that non-profit status has little to do with the salaries of the employees.

You can simply tell the owner that you are sorry for putting that sign by one of your employee on a wrong address and ask him if he is interested on selling that property.
