I know very little about what options I might have in that regard, or who would be a good person to deal with in order to find a suitable property/situation for an exchange.                                         

Private money usually has fewer fees and points and term length can be negotiated more easily to serve the best interest of both parties.Private lenders will lend you cash to buy property in exchange for a specific interest rate.

I'm wondering if anyone has tips for exchanging an early move-in date for the new tenant doing cleaning at the property.The early move-in would be a full week and the tenant can clean the property as much or as little as they'd like.

Find out everything they do, and ask if you can find deals for them in exchange for them mentoring you.

In exchange for a good referral, they may be willing to refer sellers to you that they can't help.  

But I would exchange places with you!
