I would ask them if they are familiar with creative real estate such as contract for deed, lease options, subject-to, etc...Also, make sure they will get back to you in a timely manner and let them know upfront, that you expect this from them.

It was thrown out before it grew legs, The judge apparently didn't agree with listing your phone number for a rental and then expecting people to "NOT" call.My case my be isolated, but thats my experience......I like Clint's idea a lot and I plan on doing that next go around.

I'm sure you would like to defer it and only pay during closing.If you buy the option from him, then, yes, you would expect to be put into contact with the owner, and get a chance to look around to your hearts content.
