I attempted to reach out to my property manager on 6/30 as per the lease expiration date in writing and he had a terrible attitude and told me I needed to wait until a certain date to have him reach out to the tenants.

If you wanted to be super careful you could have an attorney write up a new easement and record it for the benefit of future owners of both properties.
