Ft lauderdale and Miami have more year round because of the size of the market, business operations, etc but the price point is higher and so is a higher barrier to entry.

Took me about five hours round trip including installation.I was prepared to take a nice beating in my asking price because of the house to the right.

Of course, it will be a little trickier than those nice round numbers, so definitely make sure you have a good CPA on your team.

I would try to find a more year round type vacation spot so that you can decrease your vacancy rate and ultimately increase your profits.

You might find a deal or two that makes sense in the secondary markets (Round Rock, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Hutto, etc...).

Like a broken record, the trick is to find out the perfect Location, Location, Location ;-) Many STRs break even or even lose money because the math needs to make sense in terms of year-round high average occupancy rates necessary to pass the break-even threshold.
