Maybe this is a party house and there have been a ton of noise complaints. 

I only do it for noise when requested.

When rents in your C or B class multi stop rising .Its a signal not noise. 

From your original post you made it seem like you could/did not close by the closing date, needed to push back a week, the seller started making noise and wanted out of the deal because they had better offers. 

They often get tips from neighbors about some construction or from annoyed noise.

I will continue the grind though.

Nothing like grinding to get out of a bad situation though.

If you're not an experienced negotiator in the real estate world, the seller can walk all over you without you even knowing it happened.Local area: I looked at the map and don't see any detractions or unusual noise sources in the area.However, if you're not familiar with the area, anything west of I-495 and north of I-90 is in the snow belt. 

Send them notice of their responsibilities and a notice to him regarding the noise.
