IMO, the house configuration and amenities are highly variable & to me immaterial.The ABSOLUTE criterion is cash flow - - hey, it's an investment & I want something for my time, effort and initial cash-in as an annual ROI.

You mentioned that the seal on the refrigerator was not sealing properly because of the new door configuration, can the seal be removed and turned so that it would be in the same configuration as it was on the other side?

It is possible, I suppose, to configure passive rental holdings under the auspices of providing property management services, but that would be anything but a tax-efficient way to accomplish the goal.You are correct that any debt instrument should be corporate debt and non-recourse to you.
