It all boils down to making an informed decision as to where to invest in STR rather than the knee jerk reaction of chasing shiny objects.

Guy #1 and his dad got into an argument about something they had in storage so while they were both at work guy #1 dad broke in through the bathroom window to get disputed object and left to go back home where he lives in Tennessee.

More importantly the measure of "good investment" is different for everyone based on your market and objectives.

I feel it is all about the objective appreciation vs cahflow.  

You shall never pour cooking grease or other damaging/obstructing objects down toilets, sinks or drains.

Capital gain and rental income are not our main investment objective but it would be nice to supplement our living expenses.  

Chasing shiny objects without fixing your current problems will only lead to more problems on the future.Fix what is broken now and take baby steps later to build passive income

This is going to be different for everyone based on goals and earning potential at their primary job etc. but at least objectively look at it like a job and determine if your time is worth it. 

Good Morning Nick,I agree our situations are similar but coming from different perspectives which I think can compliment each other to build some great portfolios and help each other complete our objectives.

I think the biggest obstacle I am thinking of after reading some comments would be the objection from neighbors.
