I just recently sold off a larger pool of REOs I acquired from the bank.

I guess basically the only benefit would be gaining equity (and of course living in a spacious house with a backyard and driveway. 

I would keep a close eye to make sure you are not getting the same appraiser from the pool.

If you want to lend by pooling multiple investors' capital, create an LLC.
